There was a situation near my boyfriend's family home, where two unfixed cats were dumped and left outside when the owner's moved away. Of course the situation escalated insanely quickly, and they reproduced over and over and over again in a matter of a year. A kind neighbor was feeding the cats, but two turned into 24 before they knew it. When I was alerted about the situation, there were 24 cats in total, including three litters of kittens, all of different ages. I was able to rescue all of the kittens, and luckily they all found forever homes pretty quickly. The adults were a bit more challenging to trap, but they all got fixed and vaccinated within two to three months. The last adult mom cat named Dusty, gave me such a run! She took months and months of coaxing, bribing with her own kittens, hours and hours of patience. Finally, the woman whose backyard the cats were residing, was able to trap her! She was spayed and released, as were all of the other adults. They were all feral. But now the situation is hopefully all taken care of and under control. The cats are being fed everyday, and the sweet family even has since provided very suitable shelter for the winter months. They will keep an eye to ensure there are no others that arrive to continue the reproduction process.

Such a great success!
