"G r a c i e"

Gracie was from one of the two litters rescued from the parking lot in Bedford. She and her three siblings were not easy to catch, but it was definitely worth all of the efforts. The litter was rescued when they were about 10-12 weeks old. Right off the bat, Gracie was the most feral of the kittens, it she made that very clear. She would hiss and spit, and stand in front of her siblings to protect them. It was admirable how protective she was over them, but it didn't make her transition very easy.
Two of the four kittens were adopted into great homes within the next few weeks, leaving Gracie and her sister Tortellini whom were still looking. Tortellini still needed time to come around, but it was obvious that she wanted to trust people. Gracie, on the other hand, was taking her sweet time coming around. Fast forward a few months, and Gracie had done pretty well at coming around slowly. She became quite a beggar at the dinner table, and she always knew my dad would cave and give her food. It was quite cute. She still had no interest in being picked up or held, but was making progress in the occasional pets.

A woman came to meet them with interest to foster to adopt. She understood Gracie and where she was at socially, and accepted that. She loved that Tortellini was a mush and loved being pet and doted on. The woman excitingly took them into her home that night. After a little over a month, the woman made the decision to officially adopt them! It really comes to show what patience can do for an animal!
Happy forever little girls!
