"S o p h i a"

Sophia was rescued after many months of trying from a parking lot in Bedford. I rescued her litter of kittens the fall before, and spent quite a long time figuring out how to outsmart her and get her to go in the trap! After about 4 months, I was able to trap her and she was safe!
When I rescued her, I was worried about her being pregnant again. She was very much in heat, and I of course planned to wait out the 63 days, to be sure that she wasn't pregnant before getting her spayed. She was super feral, an it was difficult to even get close to her to see her belly. What do you know, my parents called me on day 53 to say that there were three little newborn kittens in the crate with Sophia! After 8 weeks, her three kittens all found amazing forever homes!
Once Sophia was finished nursing and had some time to recover from giving birth, she was then spayed, tested, vaccinated, and given a clean bill of health. After a few more months in her large crate, I decided that it was time to let her out to roam free with the other rescues. She was still very feral, but would lick Churu from my fingertips with ease. These days, Sophia lives a great life with the other rescues, and enjoys her bed and treats on a regular basis! She is not into being pet or handled, but we both respect each others space. Happy life Miss Sophia!
