I wish all rescue stories were happy ones. Devastatingly, this story is one of the heartaches.

These four loves Bissell, Dyson, Kirby, and Roomba were rescued by a good Samaritan from a massive rock dump in Yonkers. Within a few days, one at a time started declining so fast. After x-rays, we discovered that they were all filled with a ton of small rocks, gravel, and a ton of air from ingesting all of the content. In tiny kittens such as these, peristalsis (movement of the gi tract) slows down, or even stops after ingesting something such as gravel. That's what was happening with these guys. We did emergency surgery on the first to decline, Bissell. But it didn't save him. We tried around the clock medications to coat their stomachs, and give things to help their gut get all the gravel moving, but with no success. One by one, we lost all of these sweethearts. I know we did everything possible to try to save them, but they were dealt a really awful hand, and were born at the rock dump.
