rescue . rehabilitate . rehome
"C o o k i e"

Cookie & her sisters were quite a surprise! They were born in my parent's garage! The fall prior, I had rescued two litters of kittens, and only one mom cat. The other mom cat was impossible to trap! I tried for months, and finally a few months later, I was able to trap her. Mom cat, now known as Sophia, was definitely in heat when I trapped her. I was so nervous that she may again be pregnant. She didn't have a belly yet, so I was hoping that I got her in time. I was waiting out the 63 days before getting her spayed, to be sure that wasn't in fact, pregnant! About 4 weeks after trapping her, I got an interesting 7Am phone call from my mom...She said "There's babies in the crate with Sophia!!!" So I guess she was pregnant! Sophia gave birth to three beautiful baby girls. Two were all black, and miss Strudel was black with some white. The cuties spent a few weeks with mom, nursing and getting strong. When they were ready to be weaned, the timing worked out that I had just rescued another litter a few weeks prior, and both litters were the same age!!! Both litters of three were able to socialize, and play, and snuggle together for the final two weeks before going to their forever homes! It was such a fun time!
Cookie found her forever home with her sister, Tarte! They are still clients at my animal hospital, so I get to see them from time to time!
