"K o d a"

Koda's story will tug at your heartstrings, so grab some tissues! Koda was brought into my animal hospital to be euthanized at 7 years old. Unsure about his history, or why he didn't look so well, my boss did not feel comfortable euthanizing him without trying to find why he looked so lethargic.
After much extensive testing, ultrasounds, and radiographs, it was determined that Koda had something called exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. All it meant was that he was unable to properly digest food due to the lack of digestive enzymes made by the pancreas. All he needed for this condition was an enzyme powder in his meals to help him digest his food. So this was fantastic news!!!
We kept Koda at the vet hospital for a few weeks after diagnosing him to ensure that he was in fact gaining weight once starting his enzyme powder. He seemed to be doing great, and went back home a short while later.
To our surprise, about two weeks later we got a phone call that Koda's family no longer wanted him. Totally surprised after all that was done to help him, my coworker and I were determined to find the very best home for this deserving boy. After having the opportunity to bond with him while he spent weeks at my animal hospital, I knew this boy was special. He got along with dogs, cats, and children and had the sweetest temperament.
Soon enough, the sweetest woman came to meet Koda, along with her mother and young daughter. She instantly fell in love with his gentle soul and wasted no time adopting him and taking him home that very day! Koda now lives a life of luxury, and is doted upon all day long! He sleeps on either the couch when his family is watching tv, or in his new sisters crib to watch over her and keep her company. He is teaching his new sister to be gentle, and I've been told that he was absolutely the "perfect fit" for their family!
