"L e n n o x"

Lennox is one of my two spoiled fur babies. I found Lennox when I made a wrong turn trying to find a house that was on the market to show my boyfriend. It turns out that there was an abandoned house that had burned years back, and now residing outside of it roaming the front porch were at least 12 cats. All of them seemed very feral, but I began going there a few times a week to leave fresh food and water for them. I wanted to see how close they would come to me. There was this one black cat that spoke to me. She had patches of hair missing, a hernia sticking out of her side, a bad case of asthma, and an upper respiratory infection. And all of that was apparent only from a distance. She would come within a few feet of me for food, but never let me touch her.

Until one day in October 2015.

I had been going to this property for a few weeks, and one day asked my dad to take a ride there with me. On this one particular afternoon, the medical mess of an adorable black cat bumped my leg and even allowed a pet on her head. It was fate that I happened to have a cat carrier in my trunk that day, but my dad slowly got the carrier and it all just fell into place. She was safe, and I was relieved. I never considered having a second cat, but for some reason I had no intention of finding her a home. I didn't think twice about keeping Lennox. It all just seemed very natural that she was going to spend her life with Lyric and I. It took Lennox a solid four months to come out of her shell and get comfortable. It took Lyric just as long to accept that she wasn't the only cat anymore. These days, my spoiled loves share my bed each night, bump each other during feeding time, and really seem to love each other. It melts my heart everyday to see how happy and content she has become in her new home, and I'm very lucky to have her in my life.
