I rescued Magnolia and her two siblings from underneath a shed in White Plains. I had been contacted by someone who got my number from my animal hospital, and they were concerned because they had a cat roaming around their yard for a few days. When I asked them to send me a picture of the cat, it was very obvious to me that the cat was either pregnant, or had just given birth recently. I headed to the person's property, and took a look around the backyard for kittens.
What do you know, but I checked underneath their shed, and there was the most impressive tunnel through the leaves under the shed! I took a better look, and saw little faces! After what felt like an hour, I slowly combed away the leaves, and opened up the tunnel. When the tunnel was fully opened up, I saw three tiny 2.5 week old kittens!
II brought the teeny tinies home, gave them all baths, and started eye medications right away. They had such terrible eye infections, that these kittens would have all eventually become blind without medical help. Their eyes were all actually sealed completely shut. When I warm soaked their eyes and they finally opened, pus poured out. It was so terrible, and they all were really lucky to be found when they were. After a week of medication, all of their eyes were as good as new!
Rewind for one second...I can't forget to mention that momma cat went into the trap and was rescued about a half hour after I rescued the babies! She was named Cypress, and turned out to be as sweet as can be!
The three cuties were able to be reunited with momma Cypress, and they spent a few weeks nursing with her. When they were old enough to be weaned off of moms milk, they were becoming independent little adults! These nuggets were SO friendly, and SO tiny! They came running when they were called, and they just wanted to be loved. Sweet is such an understatement. They really were perfect!
Miss Magnolia was the biggest of her trio. She was confident and playful, and landed a home with a family friend of a friend of mine! The family is so in love with her, and I get updates often! I'm so happy that this beauty got the forever home that she deserved!
