"N i k e"

Nike's a memorable guy for me, personally. Nike came to me along with his brother and sister, Puma & Reebok from a woman needing help with their socializing. Nike was by far in need of the most socialization, time, and patience. He was deemed "too feral to examine" at his first vet appointment before they came to me. Needless to say, I don't believe an animal is too feral. He needed patience, and a whole lot of it. There was no rush. The day after he arrived, he allowed me to bathe him by myself. I knew he would be just fine in the long run after that. If he was going to allow me to do that after knowing me for 12 hours, he had it in him to be able to trust. His confident brother Puma, really helped him get more comfortable as the weeks went by. Seeing his buddies opening up to trust, showed him that it would be okay for him to as well.

He came a long way over the course of the weeks he was here, and I was so undeniably proud of him and his progress. He didn't like to be held, but he liked to be close by to you. He appreciated his space, but didn't want to be fully left alone. He became good friends and playmates with my cat, Cole. He brought shy Cole out of his shell, and I'll always be grateful that he helped Cole open up a bit.

He was a hard one to say goodbye to when he went to his forever home, but I was so happy that he found his forever family! He has a few fur babies to play with too!
