"O s c a r"

Oscar and his sister Emmy hold a special place in my family's hearts. I got a call from a family friend of mine one day in the beginning of June. She works at a flower shop near town where I have rescued kittens from before. She said that there was a mom cat and her five kittens in need of rescue on their property. A co-worker of hers had already gotten three of the kittens and needed help with the other two. And don't worry, I rescued the mom cat as well!!

Enter Oscar and Emmy. This duo was about 8 weeks old when I got them. They were filled with fleas and very shy. I treated them medically for everything they needed, and very carefully gave them baths. It took a few weeks for Oscar to warm up to people, but even longer for miss Emmy. Oscar was definitely the more confident of the two, and soon enough this little boy was a lovable, sweet little needy boy! He helped Emmy come out of her shell immensely. We ended up having Oscar and Emmy at my parent's house for about 3-3.5 months before finding them their forever home. But they were adopted TOGETHER, which was a non-negotiable for me in their situation. Emmy NEEDED her brother. She needed his confidence, so it was really about finding the perfect fit for a forever home for them. And it happened! They landed a great home with the sweetest couple who love and adore them! They're even patients at my animal hospital so I get to see them on a regular basis!
