rescue . rehabilitate . rehome
"Z u c c h i n i"

I got a phone call one fall morning when I was pumpkin picking up north. It was from a previous local adopter, who discovered a mom cat and three little kittens underneath her deck in her backyard! That afternoon, I went to pick up the little cuties, and boy they were adorable! Two brown boy tabbys and a black female, to be exact. She had put them safely in a box and I brought them home. They were only about 4-5 weeks old, but luckily they had been nursing on mom for that time. I bottle fed them for a few days before they got the hang of eating wet food on their own.
Zucchini was the runt of the litter, and was almost half the size of her two brothers. She had me a little worried at first, just due to her size. I would be sure to look after a bit more, and make sure that she was given extra food and kept from getting stepped on by her rambunctious brothers. She proved to be a resilient little fighter, and she really thrived in my home over the next 4 weeks.
She was spunky, and playful, and just a love. Her photo and story caught the eye of a lovely couple from NYC, and they fell in love immediately once they came to meet her! She lives quite the life in NYC with her family, and is growing nicely! She's still small for her age, but seems that she will always be a petite princess!
Fast forward a few months, and her family adopted another cat from me, and she now has a brother that she adores! They play all the time, and are a happy little family!

P.S: The lovely family that rescued these guys, also trapped the mom cat and had her spayed!
